AbstractDuring the past two decades China has experienced a rapid growth in economy, which has stimulated the development of Chinese management education and training. With its reform, opening up to the rest of the world and modernization drive entering into a new era in the earlier 1990s, China has escalated possibilities to transfer advanced management educational and training from other countries into its territory. As a prestigious international graduate school in Asian area, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is committed to the development of Asian countries. Faced with a boom in Chinese MBA education in recent years, AIT has potential opportunities to practice its educational mission in China. This research study aims at conducting a feasibility analysis for introduction of AIT's MBA programs in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China. Following the SWOT analysis framework, this research has assessed Chinese socioeconomic environments for the development of management education and training, as well as AIT's competencies for the potential transfer of its MBA programs to Beijing. This research also examined different kinds of current MBA programs in China by identifying their unique characteristics, models and key successful factors (KSFs) that would be benefit for AIT. To assess basic demand and supply of management education and training in Beijing, in-depth personal interviews has been undertaken with officers of Chinese government, scholars and researchers at some higher education institutions and managers at different enterprises. By using quality and quantity analysis methods, this research has revealed that stakeholders of management education and training share some common interest, meanwhile having their different expectations. Based on SWOT analysis and evaluations on stakeholders' perception about management education and training, feasibility assessment of introduction of AIT's MBA programs in Beijing has been conducted. Finally, a successful entry strategy and implementation of the MBA programs has been proposed.
