Abstract | To observe the effect of interference from GSO/FSS, LEO/FSS and terrestrial radio relay systems to the LEO/MSS feeder link system, an interference scenario is developed and simulation model is prepared. This thesis presents a method for calculating the ratio C/I at the LEO/MSS feeder link system. The C/I is calculated at the LEO/MSS feeder link considering all other systems as interfering agents. This analysis is carried out considering all systems operating in Ka band. The obtained result is plotted as carrier to interference ratio verses cumulative distribution function. This ratio depends on the system characteristics, such as type of orbits, number of satellites in the constellations, antenna radiation patterns etc. By comparing the results, it can be concluded that there is a strong possibility of frequency sharing among the above mentioned different systems. It is found that the number of visible satellite is different from the different location of earth station. There is a significant variation in C/I as the latitude of the gateway station and distance between the gateway station and other earth stations are varied. There is insignificant effect on interference from the satellites to the gateway station by varying distance between the gateway station and other earth stations. The location of the gateway station is found to be of higher importance. |
