AbstractThis thesis focuses on the data integration for data warehousing. Since the data relates to the data warehouse would be extracted from heterogeneous data sources, all activities during the three phases of data integration (i.e., the pre-integration phase, the integration phase, and the post integration phase) must be done carefully. The documents of related data should be prepared properly in order to facilitate the further development of the data warehouse. Moreover, the tool used for integrating the disparate data, extracted from heterogeneous data sources, should facilitate the data warehouse developer along the data integration phase. It also should facilitate the computing system developer in redesign or adjusting the infrastructure of the computing system. From this perspective, this research proposes the possible alternative of the data integration tool. It is called the "web-based data integration tool". This is a kind of tools that supports the data warehouse developer to easily perform the data integration through the web. It also completely supports the concept of "thin-client" and the redesign of computing system to be the "n-tiered architecture".
