Abstract | Drought disaster in Thailand has been occurring and has increase in frequency in recent years. A drought is one weather hazard that is often underestimated, for two reasons. Droughts have a slow rate of onset and have less of a visual impact on us. However, the long term outcome of a drought can be widespread and very devastating. Drought risk area assessment study by using the Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing technology as combination and integration. The two years different dry seasons JERS OPS images were used to detect vegetation conditions which were related with drought. GIS processed through the criteria of MOSTE was conducted in physical and meteorology factors of drought risk area. Integration of two technique are made more efficient and believable. The study is findings is the obvious relation between drought risk area and vegetation condition index. Correlation of regression analysis described their interested relationship. According to the methodology and the result, although it is not illustrated high significant within the scope and limitation study, but these can be an useful new idea to assess and evaluate drought risk area as well as for relief the drought disaster. |
