AbstractThis thesis study is the case of an integrated-cell process of a multinational disc drive manufacturing company in Thailand. It focuses on the development of software for the production, inventory and materials requisition planning which provides insight for the decision maker. The main objective of this study is to generate the master production and materials requirement plans subject to the plant attributes and management policy. The procedures for this problem are decomposed into 2 parts. Firstly, a linear mixed integer goal programming model is formulated for the production and inventory planning. Secondly, from the derived production output of the first linear goal programming model, linear simultaneous models are applied to generate the materials requisition planning. The Excel spreadsheet with the optimization solver, Lingo 5.0, is developed and proposed to the production planner. Finally, some recommendation regarding this software development is discussed.
