Abstract | This study investigates the use of powerful computing capabilities offered by software revolution with effective solutions available based upon accepted industry standards. The integrated solution for sequential and regulatory control strategies is easy-to-use method for implementing automation. Integrated software is now becoming available which is easy configure and to maintain the control hardware, program the logical conditions of PLCs using the graphic interface and support Supervisory Control And Data Aquisition SCADA system by human machine interface. The information which the sensor measures during the process to control the actuator, has been processed by the automation system controller and transfers data reliably and accurately by Fieldbus to display on the operator screen. The design of an automation control system for the ammonia storage tank and the plant model uses the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which supervises the sensors or actuators at the device level, to communicate with the intelligent sensor via PROFIBUS-DP and remote control SCADA system human machine interface. All these components together comprise the Process Control System software (PCS7). The simulation process of the ammonia storage tank is tested and we investigated the features of the totally integrated automation concept. The adaptation of this study can be very effectively utilized for the design, implementation and operation phases of safety in the hazardous area by using PROFIBUS-PA network for the distributed computer control with field devices. We also built a prototype plant model to provide the real system to operate with the remote control user interface via PROFIBUS-DP. |
