AbstractOperators who observe the machining process in CNC machines often find difficulties in viewing the machining process according to the nature of the machines. For the better viewing of the machining process, the study aims to develop a simulation model to avoid the difficulty. In the present paper OpenGL based Sherline CNC Mill machine simulation model is targeted as the main model of investigation, and some key techniques of the system used in building of display model are also investigated. The investigation process is done according to the method of creating the 3D model on OpenGL environment by reading the 3DS file. The simulation is written and programmed by using Visual Studio C# language and OpenGL is implemented. The main aim of the study is to develop OpenGL in terms of the techniques such as x-axis movement, y-axis movement, and z-axis movement.
