AbstractThis study investigated with the geological condition, slope failure and evaluation of the stability of re-excavated slope at the outlet portal of the diversion headrace tunnel of Klong Thung Phen irrigation and mini-hydro Project.. The initial designed slope was excavated mostly on the thick covered colluviums, residual soils and highly fractured weathered sandstone rock. The slope failure occuned due to the effect of heavy rainfall. Investigation works with new boreholes for the remedial design was made. Geologic mapping, field and laboratory tests were carried out to assess physical and engineering properties of residual soil and colluvial soil on the slope. From the field data and the laboratory results, the slope geometry and subsoil conditions could be determined. Stereographic projection analysis on discontinuities were done. The stability of the slopes under the initial design and remedial design were analyzed. Based on the obtained info1mation, the slope cut in the study area found to be stable.
