Abstract | The use of automation system in many is becoming more popular in recent years. The trend seems to continue as long as the robotics technology meets diverse and challenging needs of the Industries. Pick and place is one such application used vastly today in the industry. Benefits of pick and place systems can be expanded in many ways. Efficiency and rapid continuous motions are few of those. This paper focus on implementing selective pick and place industrial application based on its metallic character. The system contains a pick and place robot which is driven pneumatics and a conveyor. Both of these systems are being controlled by using PLC Siemens S7. Ladder Logic is being used to program the PLC and additional Human Machine Interface (HMI) is being created, which helps the operator monitoring and controlling the overall system. HMI is developed using Wincc explorer. Detection of an object on the conveyor is being done by placing three induction sensors on the conveyor. In addition the pick and place robot is a 3 axis robot, which contains two prismatic and one rotational axis. The main objective of this project is to apply the knowledge in mechanical, electronic and mainly programming which are key aspects in engineering sector. |
