AbstractIn the last five years, the distribution network in the country has rapidly expanded. Thakhek district is once to expanded their feeders and its distribution network. This paper describes additional technique as consideration auto-recloser on the line to implement reliability evaluation in two of primary existing feeders, which has frequently number of fault. The causes of faults and suggested way to reduce it have been described This paper also has been analyzed the fault current in the primary distribution system in Thakhek district by using short circuit analysis program. Also overcurrent, overvoltage protection has been discussed for improvement, such as examine to set pickup current of the relay and coordination it with the other protective device which is installed on the same line. Finally, the general recommendation to improve reliability in the Thakhek distribution system in order to get benefits for EDL and encouragement to domestic consumers.
