AbstractThis study investigates the feasibility for the repurification of secondary effluent by chemical treatment. In this study, Navanakorn Industrial Estate secondary effluent was employed as a secondary effluent being treated. Four coagulants which are aluminium chloride, polyaluminium chloride, ferric chloride and AQUA-FIX (Oxidant and Flocculant) were employed as a coagulants. Jar test which was used to determine the optimum coagulant dosage and pH results that the most appropriate coagulant, among above four coagulants, for applying with Navanakorn Industrial Estate secondary effluent treatment is Alum. The optimum dosage and pH of Alum are 150 mg/I and 8.0 respectively. By applying Alum as a coagulant for Navanakorn Industrial Estate secondary effluent treatment through a chemical precipitation, it is found that the effluent concentration are met requirement of the surface water quality standards. The effluent concentration and the removal efficiency for removal of BOD, TSS, TDS, NH4-N and TP, which are 81.3%, 34.48%, 3.08%, 32% and 70% respectively, can be achieved through chemical treatment system.
