Abstract | In this study, triaxial compression tests under untrained conditions were performed to investigate the stiffness of Bangkok clay at small strains using a multi function triaxial apparatus, which developed at Hokkaidc University and donated Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) by the Government of Japan. The samples were undisturbed Bangkok clay taken from Sutthisan, one of subway stations being under construction, where three borehole were drilled down to a . . maximum depth of 22 m below the existing surface. The results from this studies indicated good performance of triaxial apparatus, and presented various ways to show deformation characteristics over a wide strain range. |
