AbstractFrom 1990 up to the present, Cambodia's economy has seen a rapid transformation from a centralized command economy to a market economy. From the opinion of some experts, Cambodia is lacking competent and flexible business managers capable of steering an economic development of the country in the transformation period. This is explains why the author would like to pay attention to Human Resource Management in business management Training in Cambodia as well as in Business Development. The objective of this study is to identify the various training needs for mid-level managers in Business in Cambodia, then reveal the most expected management skills to be trained of the local managers and the most appropriate methodology used for training format which is most likely to be accepted. The data showed the facts that a majority of Cambodian managers consider the competency of the business managers as the decisive factor that influences the situation of enterprise at present. The decision making skills, communication skills, directing skills, are the top training expectation. Two types of training program preferred by the respondents in Phnom Penh are on-the-job training and management education. The contribution of business development in the field of Human Resource Management in business management training and recycling for the managers of companies to the economic future of Cambodia could be improved with better government support of higher education and management training, enhancing the skills and capabilities of Cambodian entrepreneurs/managers.
