AbstractThe purpose and objective of this research study is to analyze the influential and predictive determinants of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO). More specifically, this study examined to what extent psychological factors, human capital and contextual factors might have influence on individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO) of women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh and among these factors, which factor has the most influence on IEO. Data have been collected using a validated and structured questionnaire-based survey of 138 women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh and sample has been exclusively taken from Dhaka city. Relevant demographic information (age, marital status, educational level and age of business) is also captured in this study. Reliability test (Cronbach’s alpha coefficient) has been applied and based on the result, some questionnaire items are dropped out. Hierarchical regression analysis and correlation analysis have been administered to test the formulated hypotheses. A total of thirteen independent variables have been tested to examine their influence on IEO. Six variables have been statistically significant and predictive factors of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO) of women entrepreneurs: agreeableness, neuroticism, external locus of control, need for achievement, self-efficacy and human capital. Need for achievement has been observed as the most influential factor in determining individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), which is followed by neuroticism.
