AbstractA large bandwidth is required for the transmission of video and thus for a bandwidth constrained channel like wireless channel, video transmission is not possible without compression. The error prone wireless channel causes severe degradation of such compressed video. So an error correction code is necessary to transmit such compressed video. This research study presents a forward e1Tor correction code for transmission of H.263 coded video in wireless channel. The error correction code is the concatenated code with Reed Solomon Code as the outer code and Trellis Coded Modulation as the inner code. Performance of the concatenated code is given by PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio), a measurement of video quality. The results show that acceptable video quality can be obtained for wireless transmission in Rayleigh Flat Fading channel with the proposed concatenated code.
