AbstractJust-In-Time (JIT) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) are the major approaches in controlling production system. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Mix pull/push strategy is the one that try to inherit the benefits of both pure pull and pure push production systems. CONWIP system was regarded as a hybrid pull/push production system, that can achieve the same throughput rate with a lower WIP level comparing to Push system. A mathematical programming model was built to integrate scheduling and sequencing for CONWIP, Push and Pull systems. This model determines the efficient products' sequence and production schedule that gives the minimum total cost (processing cost, set-up cost, and holding cost). In doing so, the model also gives us estimated stait and finish times of each pa1t in the system. The problem is a Non-linear Mixed Integer Mathematical Programming. It consume a huge amount of time to solve for optimization, in some case it can not solve because of the large size. Tahu Search is used to solve heuristically that can reduce a lot of calculation time. Computational testing shows that the heuristics gives fairly good solution.
