| Abstract | While management perspective of IS09000 and TQM are vitally important, the availability of technology such as hypermedia in complementing the concept and facilitating the implementation needs careful attention as well. In this study, the author aims to study the potentials of Web-based Quality Management System in addressing the information requirements, its roles in quality system and its implementation in a computer assembly industry. An investigation and analysis of a quality system of Olympia Computer Systems Ltd., an investigated company in this study, is used to formulate a conceptual framework of Webbased Quality Management System, which are document and data control, teamwork support and integration, learning support, and system benefits frameworks. A pilot Web-based application is developed according to the frameworks on networked environment to create a practical solution for the system especially in a portion of the overall eff01i for ISO 9000 implementation in which the author involved with the investigated company. An implementation of newly developed system in the investigated company and its impact on the process of ISO 9000 implementation and registration are discussed. Although the Webbased Quality Management System developed is intended to be used in the Olympia Computer Systems Ltd., the system is general enough to be adopted for other similar type of industries, however, with some modifications that take into account specific implementation requirements of the implementing organization. |
