AbstractInfrastructure facilities are known as a significant factor for developing country economics. Financing infrastructure projects require large amount of money. Private finance is employed in many projects in Thailand. The Private Finance Initiative (PFI) includes designing, constructing, financing and operating projects. This thesis examines sources of finance for PFI projects in Thailand. Risks related to project financing are identified. The thesis introduces swap financing as a risk management tool. Finally, factors that should be considered for making decisions to employ swap financing are recommended.
