| Abstract | This research study tries to explore the market demand and supply situation of the pollution control technology and equipment market in China. The study was conducted by reviewing the relevant literature, interviewing with key officials at State Environmental Protection Agencies (SEP A) and some other relevant ministries and doing an in-depth study of information and documents on environmental protection industry and finally drawing conclusions after analyzing the data thus obtained. The results of the study reveal that though the government's incentives for development of environmental protection industry are attractive, and a large number of enterprises producing pollution control equipment, the market supply is still can not meet the market demand due to the poor technology and low productivity among most of the producers. Therefore, China is eager to obtain advanced technologies and equipment for environmental protection from developed countries. Based on the findings of the research study, some recommendations have been made to the Chinese government for further development of the environmental protection industry in the country. And some recommendations have also been made to foreign companies for their references when they enter the Chinese market. |
