Abstract | In traditional contract of building construction project, the cost estimation is done before the construction period while cost control is done at the construction period. The organization which controls the cost may be different from the organization which make the cost estimate. This may make the cost control process suffer from estimation data. The purpose of this study is to develop a software which integrates the cost estimation process with cost control data in building construction based on lump sum contract. The integration enables the transfer of cost estimation information automatically to the cost control process. Therefore, information regarding the cost status of the project can be provided at any time. In addition, the software also provide other tools for controlling the project such as productivity data of equipment and labor. This information can give the status of labor or equipment productivity in the project. This will enable the management personnel to take a further action in order to control the total project cost. The productivity data can be used to prepare estimates for future projects. An additional tool provided is the material waste which has the same function as the productivity data of labor and material. |
