Abstract | This study analyzes the similarities and differences of excellent leadership as perceived by the Chinese managers. The report includes two major parts: 1) Literature review, a summary of learning of some important leadership theories; 2) Comparative studies of leadership characteristics of the Chinese managers, based on statistical analyses of the data. The results showed that respect (the self esteem of others) has been ranked as top priority, followed by (professional or corporate) image, honesty and competitiveness as factors determining the importance of leadership excellence in Chinese companies. The report also shows that gender is the key factor relating to major differences in leadership perceptions. |
