AbstractModern NC machine tools have servomotor drives fitted as standard equipment, which provide infinitely variable speed and feed rate to all the machine axes and to the main spindle. It is the task of a motion control system to accurately position each individual axis of a machine tool and to precisely control all movements, so that workpieces with fine tolerance can be machined. Motion control may involve accurate control of distance, speed, torque or acceleration. To fulfill all the required accuracy demands, the motion control parameters have to be designed. The main objective of this study is to set up the parameters of CNC position servo's. The study also include general theory of CNC machines, control theory, motor study, design of the parameters and final selection and simulation.
