AbstractThis study discusses in general the problem to obtain a fractal description of a 3D fractal object in the form of 3D IFS, highlighting methodology building. The proposed methodology is to build the 3D IFS based on the 2D IFS of 2D orthogonal parallel projections. The methodology consists of several stages which are related to one another. In this study the author attempts to review all the related material and bring them to a single goal. Also the author prepared this research as a springboard for further developments to be continued by another researcher. As such, author attempts to combine all the stages into one methodology and to facilitate a strong theoretical basis for this methodology. The aim here is to make the methodology more robust and applicable and this has been partially fulfilled. Lastly the author recommended further research on this.
