AbstractThe purpose of this thesis study was to implement the rapid prototyping technology to the product design and development process and analyze the impact of them. This thesis study was concerning the air-conditioner remote controller design and development supported by Intronic Co., Ltd. There are two proposed remote controller design, the wall mounted remote controller and desktop remote controller, and one packaging design. The design and development process was perform systematically from the conceptual design, embodiment design, detailed design, rapid prototyping fabrication, assembly test, and design analysis. The 3D CAD system is used to produce mostly output from the virtual prototype, 3D solid model, STL file, and 2D dimension drawing. The prototypes were fabricated by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Method at Kasetsart University. The analysis was about to compare between the product design and development process with and without the implementation of rapid prototyping technology, in term of time and cost.
