Abstract | This study examines the working capital management practices and policies of the manufacturing companies in Myanmar both in the private sector as well as government enterprises. According to analytical framework discussed in Chapter Three, working capital practices of seventeen manufacturing companies were analyzed and an indepth case study of one company was carried out. The study shows that the wedge between theory and practice of working capital management in the manufacturing companies in Myanmar is as wide as generally perceived. Some companies have not recognized the importance of working capital management in their short term decisions. Finally, the study make conclusions and recommendations to improve working capital management practices more effective in Myanmar. |
