AbstractIn fact, there is no perfect approach in strategic field to explain the difference of companies' performance although many researchers have long been interested in competitive advantage which can be created and sustained by firms. Recently since 1990, Resource-based View approach has much developed in both theoretical parts and practical parts in order to explain the difference of each firm's performance. However, this RBV approach also suffers from the fact that it is difficult to identify and measure the resources which can enhance firm's performance since they are more likely to cease to be sources of competitive advantage if resources that produce economic rents are observable and identifiable. Therefore, this paper will have an attempt to explain which resources can play an more important role in performance of a firm in Korean automobile industry through encashment of firm's resources. The result of this research shows that the firms on each stage of growth are required to choose different strategic formulation based on resources.
