AbstractCross-cultural management is becoming increasingly important for international business. This research study of existing business relationships between EU and ASEAN through cases, surveys and interviews identifies major determinants of management adaptability for cross-border business integration. Multicultural management imperativeness derives actual results from case studies of Finnish, Philippines, and Thai business ventures. Survey pe1iaining to managers' values and characteristics, leadership styles, and success value orientation in paiiicular with Finnish management, suppo1is comparative analysis with Philippine and Thai business counterparts. The Schewind and Peterson management profile, ASEAN Perspectives on Excellence in Leadership, together with the European and Asian joint research for multicultural management assessment assist in the further evaluation of the management survey. The convergences and divergences on management systems are tackled to give an overview of actual management aspects for the Regional business operations. Greater technical complementarity, social orientation and hierarchy are among the major influencing factors identified in the study that affect present management adaptability between Finnish, Philippines, and Thailand business ventures. Recommendations for EU and ASEAN complementation to achieve regional impetus for growth consider the cultural specifics intended for firm development in reference with Finnish, Philippines and Thai management systems.
