Abstract | Managing HRs in the years of 1990s in more difficult than ever. It is more difficult in the globalization context. Managing employees in this world of Joint Ventures are effected by many challenges. These challenges have derived from different culture, management style, compensation system, and business strategy. This thesis is to analyze how it links between HRM and business strategy to gain competitive advantage. To analyze this links, the Model has been created by adapted from Weather & Davis and Mondy & Noe. This integrating has been analyzed the external and internal environment impact to HRM and HRM function such as recruitment & selection, training & development, performance appraisal, and compensation. From the case studies have shown that HRM is not well developed yet. In terms of HRM perspective, managing HRs in the Euro-Asian JVs are behind the business strategy. It is not responded to business strategy yet. As such, HRs play an important role in key to achieve the organization's goals. Therefore, through this ana.lysis the integrating Model has been proposed for analyzing the linking between HRM and business strategy to gain competitive advantage. Company can use this Model as tool to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the company in terms of managing HRs. And then the recommendation is made in order to bring the HRM to fit the business strategy to gain competitive advantage in Euro-Asian JVs. |
