Abstract | The objective of this study is practice decision making in the capital budgeting. The purpose of capital budgeting is to select the best investment which maximize the value of the firm. The capital budgeting affects the long term profitability and growth perspective of the firm. This study is based on telecommunication project proposed by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited.(PTCL) The project consists of installing of 461330 telephone lines in big cities of Pakistan. This is an expansion project. This study consists of quantitative analysis of this project.. The main part of case study is analysis of Telecommunication Development Program. First demand of telephone lines is forecasted by various techniques. The performance of company is evaluated by ratio analysis. The capital investment and cost of capital is computed. Then the cash flow of the project is estimated. Finally the sensitivity analysis is done to observe the effect of various parameters on the NPV and IRR . |
