Abstract | This study examines how state-owned companies and joint ventures in China make longterm investment decisions. Based on two cases study, the research study assesses capital budgeting practices and process according to the conceptual framework discussed in Chapter Three. As a supplement to this study, China's investment environment, investment policies, legal issues and approval procedures of investment are discussed in Chapter Two. This is done to give some general information to foreigners who intend to invest in China. Finally, the study concludes with a set of recommendations to make capital budgeting practices more effective in China. |
