AbstractFluid viscous dampers are one of the energy dissipating systems that are added to the struc- ture to dissipate the unwanted energies from earthquake. Several types of fluid viscous dampers exist to increase the strength of the structure. Exterior facades, called claddings are one of the non-structural parts of the structure. During an earthquake, non-structural parts like claddings are mainly destroyed. That is the traditional cladding system. After the innovation of the claddings to precast concrete cladding panels, they become the structural part of the building then they can also increase the stiffness of the building. By combining the fluid viscous damper and cladding panels, the buildings stiffness is distinctly increased. In this study, the main idea is to research the effect of fluid viscous dampers by varying the viscosity and area of the orifices and for the cladding, variation of the size of the panel and material used will be discussed. Then the results like how many percentage of the earth- quake energy are damped, are compared to each other. Accordingly, ground motion records are carried out analysis in the ETABS software.
