Abstract | The main objective of this capstone is targeted at improving the earthquake response of construction by adding non-structural spandrel cladding panel as energy dissipating cladding system (EDeS). The EDCS would be function as structural bracing frame to give stiffness and rigidity to the construction, and to make increase the inter-story drift caused by seven different seismic ground motions. An innovative design of spandrel cladding panel was also being used by installing energy dissipating friction damper to the exterior faade panel. In the design, friction damper prevents the damages which were caused by the seven earthquakes and also helps to dissipate the lateral energy during earthquake .. The test model was 20 stories and 3 bays steel structure and run in ETABs 2016. Only one concrete properties and one thickness are providing for spandrel precast cladding panel, and four different parameters of the friction damper are also considered. The best analysis cases were recognized. |
