Abstract | Universal Personal Telecommunications (UPT) enables access to telecommunication services by allowing personal mobility. In fixed telecommunications networks users are associated with the network access of the terminal ( line identification). In some mobile networks users are associated with a specific terminal (terminal identification). For UPT this association is moved a step further away from the network in order to provide the user with the freedom of roaming everywhere using each network access. The concept of Intelligent Network (IN) has been applied to provide the UPT service. This research study studied UPT structure based on IN architecture, including UPT numbering and UPT routing based on ITU-T recommendations. Different scenarios have been investigated. |
