Abstract | Telecommunications Information Networking Architecture (TINA) is an open software architecture for the emerging broadband, multimedia and information super-highway era. The architecture is based on distributed computing, object orientation and structured into a computing architecture describing the fundamental concepts, a service architecture adding service-specific concepts to the fundamental ones and a management architecture. Network Architecture aims at the provision of the services that are technology and manufacturer independent. This report gives a brief introduction to the organization of TINA, various concepts and principles involved in working of TINA. The Network Architecture and Service Architecture of TINA were given an emphasis to understand the functions involved in creating and providing various services. TINA and IN are two systems with entirely different technologies. They can interwork through a gateway node. This report contains the different possible mechanisms by which the two systems can interwork, also the requirements and the functions of such a gateway node. |
