Abstract | This project was performed with the intention of identifying the best method to design and to implement a rainwater harvesting system with aid of siphonic roof drainage systems. Meteorogical variability was presented in rainfall data (3h) in one station. The rainwater harvesting system was designed according to the observed and the predicted future rainfall intensities which was done by using two RMCs and two RCPs. The climate models and a rainfall disaggregating method are applied when projecting the future rainfall. Then the future Intensity-Duration-Frequency curves are developed using a probability distribution for both observed and future rainfall intensities for 6 return periods and for 5 durations. When designing the rainwater harvesting system, a design rainfall was used which was de- rived from the IDF curves and Roof drainage systems were designed for each observed and future rainfalls for every return period and for 4 durations. Therefore, the best system was selected by optimizing the results for the corresponding study area. |
