| Abstract | This research study deal with the assessment of university - industry linkage for technology transfer in Vietnam. Initially, a framework is proposed for examining the factors that can contribute to the success of this linkage. These factors are classified into three kinds: factors related to university, factors related to industry and factors related to technology transfer function. Several indicators, quantitative and qualitative, have been developed to study these factors. The framework is illustrated using the case of the linkage between Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) and POTECO Ltd. Data for developing these indicators and evaluating the factors was obtained through published documents and interviews with senior officials at HUT and POTECO. Based on the case study, the degree of success of the linkage between is assesses, and suggestion are made for strengthening the linkage. |
