AbstractLevel of service is an operational statement of the traffic flow which gives a qualitative measure of the traffic. Highway capacity manual (HeM) developed by the transportation research board of USA provides some procedure to determine level of service. It divides the quality of traffic in to six levels ranging from Level A to Level F. For Merge and diverge segments, Level of Service is defined in terms of density for all cases of stable operations (LOS A-E). LOS F exists when the freeway demand exceeds the capacity of the upstream or downstream freeway segment, or where the off-ramp demand exceeds the off-ramp capacity. This study is focused on developing MS Excel work sheets for the calculation process to evaluate level of service for freeway Il?-erge and diverge segments and to check the sensitivity of each parameter. According to the sensitivity, parameters are categorized in to four cate- gories in this analysis. The methodology for this study is based on the Highway Capacity Manual 2010.
