AbstractPermeability is one of the most vital parameters in geotechnical engineering, but also quite difficult to be measured and determined. A well-known relationship for estimating the per- meability is the Kozeny-Carman equation which is basically for sandy soils. This study covers the permeability prediction using modified Kozeny-Carman equation and electrical resistivity. Kozeny-Carman equation is revisited for the applicability of the equation on clayey sands with a fair number of laboratory tests covering poorly sorted fine to coarse sands, uniform sands ranging from fine to coarse sands with increasing clay content up to 15%. From the permeability measurement, the Kozeny-Carman equation was examined for the effect of clay content on its predictability. Finally, an empirical relationship for per- meability measured by resistivity for clayey sands as a function of formation factor was proposed.
