AbstractIn the years of renovation, Vietnam's agriculture and rural development has attained very significant achievements, basically ensuring the national food security, improving the living standards of farmers in general, contributing to the economic, political and socio stability, pulling the country out of the serious crisis since the decade of 1970s. The "market policy" approach which calls for carefully considered intervention into economic activities used markets and private sector as the vehicle seems to be relevant. Under the reform policies in agriculture, Vietnam went out the food imported and became the big rice exporter in the world. Nowadays, Vietnam's rice is presenting in many markets around the world and its position is stable more and more. In order to continue gaining the good results in the future, Vietnamese government still has to solve many problems in economic development such as the price policy to subsidize the benefits of farmers, the investment in rural areas to increase the standards of living, the relation with customers in both local and international customers. Once these problems are deal with, the agricultural production of Vietnam could be taken off and affected on the whole economy.
