AbstractDevelopment of an automatic cricket batsman robot combines both control as well as image processing. In this project the dynamics of the robot was constructed to mimic the 'straight bat' shots of a real life cricket batsman. There have been a very few or no published research of a cricket batsman robot. Even fewer have combined PID control with visual techniques to make the robot work. Therefore, this project was implemented to discover the potential of introducing PID control combined with visionary techniques to control an autonomous cricket batsman robot. The robot moves in a single plane (xy plane) to position itself to where the ball is coming from and then strike it with precision.
