Abstract | Through developing a tennis ball collecting robot, many fields of science and engineering is combined together. The main function is the image processing component which recog- nizes tennis balls and finds distance to them from the robot and this distance is then serially communicated so that tennis balls could be collected. Then PID control of various positions of the robot accomplishes the tasks of motion and ball collection. This tennis ball collect- ing robot detects balls, gets the distance to the ball and picks them up through turning and aligning themselves in the appropriate direction. |
