Abstract | The automation of transportation in the production, trade and service sector is a key point in the optimization of the industry. Automated Guided Vehicle Systems provide many benefits in this task. Out of the many navigation techniques used in automated guided vehicles Laser guided can be mentioned as the easiest to be implemented in a factory floor. For my capstone project I developed a Laser Guided Automated Vehicle which can wire- lessly navigate to the given position using the shortest path. The Laser guided vehicles is also capable of carrying up to a 2kg crate which demonstrates that this prototype could be used for transportation of goods in an industrial environment. The other functions of the laser guided vehicle I designed are mapping the rough map of the environment, updating the position of the LGV and rerouting its path in case it meets with an obstacle. |
