AbstractDevelopment of a ping pong ball bouncing robot is a research area which combines knowl- edge from various fields. Ping pong ball bouncing robots are robots that imitate the dynamics of a human being's action of bouncing a ball by using the joints in the arm as well as the wrist motion. There have been several attempts to make such a robot, however, few attempts have combined visual techniques and PID to stabilize the robot. Therefore, this research was carried out to explore the possibility of using vision based input as well as PID control to keep the ball bouncing on the racket as long as possible. This project is based on a planar bouncing robot which considers movement in the Z-axis and rotation around the Y-axis for the ball bouncing mechanism.
