AbstractIn this study, the layout design for routing an AGV in a motorcycle palts factory is proposed. The AGV is used to move raw material from storage to the delivery point in the manufacturing cell and pick up the semi-finished parts for use in the assembly cell. Integer programming method is used to select the best route which will minimize the total travel time. The best layout is selected based on results obtained using LINGO software package. A PLC based controller is used to control the movement of the AGV and the junction positions. A demonstration model is developed to verify the routing algorithm and the PLC program.
