Abstract | The study presents the improving of production smoothing concept that consists of Monthly adaptation procedure and Daily adaptation procedure. Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. has only Monthly adaptation procedure and the quantity of production per day follows from the production sequence and schedule that is planned in the beginning of that month. In daily production, it may have stocks and tardinesses because the demands per day fluctuate. Daily adaptation procedure is the solution for the cause of fluctuation demand. This procedure is got the demand four days before the car line-off are happened. Moreover, The production sequence and schedule per day is adapted in order to support cars in time. Two algorithms are proposed that one of them is the algorithm of Toyota Production System concept and the other is the algorithm that is developed from the latter by using integer programming. Both of them are generated the production sequence and schedule by Visual Basic Language in Microsoft Excel that is easy to understand and most often used. In addition, the comparison between the actual situation and the new procedure is performed in form of number of tardy jobs (Nr) and cost reduction per week on mixed-model assembly line. |
