AbstractGrowing corn and ra1smg hogs have been important complementary activities for Cambodian farmers since the time of civilization in the country. The traditional hog farmers are destined for oblivion. Raising hog for slaughter is the key where to put money in investment in Cambodia at this time. Pork has the biggest consumers and very popular in Cambodia's cuisine, that is a consequence of biggest market share compare to other meat product. Currently, Most of pork is impo1ted to the country. There are many breeds of hog for slaughter available in the world market today, which are different in shape, sizes, taste of meat, color, quality of meat, nutrient content and the leanness of the pig, but very few of them are appeared in Cambodian market. The decision of selecting the breed to raise is based on the breed availability and the capital of investment. Raising hog faces with a series of factors affected the outcome. The aim of this study is to maximize satisfaction of the decision making of the investment, therefore it is highly a strategic decision to select the proper breed of hog that may reflect optimality in satisfaction to the decision makers. As the problem of selecting hog types to invest can be treated as a problem involving multiple attribute decision making, one of the important techniques known as Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used, helped by Expert Choice software in the calculation. This study was performed with the application of questionnaire through personnel interview to get opinions and to make paired comparisons of all factors in AHP model and alternatives base on the scale of relative imp01tance, needed in AHP approach. The president of the company and all levels of managers were selected as the decision makers for interview. The results indicated that the most important factors for the investment respect to the goal is profit on the view of overall decision makers in both cases equal and unequal weight of DM, followed by Duration of Raising, Initial Investment, Maintenance and Operation Cost, and Order of Difficulty in Raising. The second part of the study will be economic analysis of the investment, which will be focus on comparison of all alternatives and its economic feasibility for the investment. The aggregation of the two analyses shows that alternative one is the only recommended for the investment with annual rate of return approximately 56%, almost twice in comparing to others.
