AbstractThis paper introduces the modeling and analysis of the rotational spring for the rocking column and three stories building. For this study, SAP2000 (structural software) is used for the modeling and the analysis of the rocking column and the building. The rocking column model use thick shell elements. Seven ground motions are put on the analysis of the rocking column with the rotational spring and produce the plot functions of energy, base shear and drift. And check the performance of the rotational spring at the analysis of three stories building with and without rotational spring. Then, compare the results of building with and without rotational spring and check the rotational spring can dissipate sufficient energy or not.
