AbstractNowadays, Energy Dissipating Cladding and dampers are widely used by people mostly in the area of earthquakes happen the most. In this research, the performance the friction damper and architectural precast concrete cladding panel will be considered. People try •... to isolate the concrete panel from the structural system in order to reduce the interaction with supporting structure and minimize damage. The present research tried to maximize the interaction between the concrete panel and structure by developing an energy dissipating cladding panel CEDCS). It is capable of functioning not only as a structural brace not only as a source of energy dissipation. The EDCS is designed to provide the stiffness and damping to the buildings with steel moment resisting frames without demanding inelastic action and ductility from the basic lateral force resisting system. According to the results from nonlinear time histories analyses the performance ofEDCS was effective and it can reduce the building responses through adding stiffness and energy dissipation.
