Abstract | Earthquakes are the dangerous natural disasters that can even take the lives of the human beings. The large amount of the precious heritages such as historical or royal buildings, pagodas and many built up structures are damaged by the earthquakes depending on the in tensity. Nowadays, seismic designs are taken into consideration to prevent the damage of the structures. New seismic design provisions require Structural Engineers to perform both static and dynamic analysis for the design of structures. While Linear Equivalent Static Analysis is performed for regular buildings up to 90 m height in zone I and II, Dynamic Analysis should be performed for regular and irregular buildings in zone III and IV. Dynamic Analysis can take the form of a dynamic Time History Analysis or a linear Response Spectrum Analysis. In present study, two-storey district hospital has been modeled using software packages ETABs v.16.0.0 for seismic zone IV which is located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. |
