Abstract | Rapid prototyping has taken the lead in the design and manufacturing field in the 21st cen- tury. Rapid prototype scanners or 3D object scanners are being developed every day and has helped the design and manufacturing industry immensely. This main of the project is to de- velop a low cost 3D object scanner. The scanner is equipped with ultrasonic sensors, which are used to get distance data to plot an outline scan of the object and the scanner mechanical mechanism is driven by de motors and stepper motors. |
